Sarah Alley teaches a lesson on fitness

“Remind yourself every day that you’re growing and healing, and never forget to give yourself credit. Empower women around you and smile at every passing stranger.”

“Remind yourself every day that you’re growing and healing, and never forget to give yourself credit. Empower women around you and smile at every passing stranger.”

Sarah Alley is a Whitewater High  School honor grad and has been on the dean’s list at Gordon State for four consecutive semesters. She recently became Zumba certified and, in April, she finished fifth in the Ultimate Loser challenge at Ultimate Fitness after losing 16.5 pounds and 9.52 percent of her body weight in 10 weeks. In fact, she sees regaining fitness as one of her biggest recent accomplishments. She has lost almost 50 pounds in the last 18 months and says she is the “slimmest, lightest, and strongest” she’s ever been. She works at Fayette Veterinary Medical Center and absolutely loves her job.

Sarah loves concerts and festivals, creating new choreography, dancing to hip-hop, and reading. She also enjoys anything to do with the ocean and the beach as well as kayaking, hiking, and camping. She’s discovered that writing is the best way to vent and express her thoughts. She’s adopted two dogs, both former vet patients who needed homes, and says they have completely stolen her heart. She hopes to earn a degree in biology or marine science and says her dream job would be to work at the Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center helping rehabilitate sick or injured animals.
