Olivia Harvey is a force for raising awareness and funds for research. Born with multiple congenital heart defects (CHDs), she has had two open-heart surgeries so far and will need more in the future as there is no cure for CHD. She helps raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) by telling her story. Olivia was chosen as a 2015 Miracle Child by CHOA and has spoken at corporate fundraisers for Sam’s, Marriott, Delta and IHOP. This year, Children’s Miracle Network also named Olivia the Champions Ambassador for Georgia, a role that will take her to Orlando and Washington, D.C. to advocate for children’s hospitals and will place her in front of lawmakers and media. Her nominator says Olivia is “the happiest, most positive person with a smile that literally shines.”
Olivia loves singing, playing guitar, dancing, acting, and horseback riding. She also enjoys doing hair and putting on makeup with her friends and having fun. She hopes to one day go to UGA or Duke to pursue a degree in physical therapy so she can help kids overcome medical issues. She also wants to travel to Italy one day to eat her favorite food, fettuccine alfredo.
