DIY Ornaments – Cupcake Ornament

by Virginia Bittinger

At Christmas time, bringing down the box of ornaments from the attic and unwrapping each decoration is like unwrapping a memory. We all have treasures for our trees that our children have brought home from school. Make your Christmas memories more special by adding new ornaments to your tree that you and your children make together!

Here is an easy ornament that you can make with your children.

Cupcake Ornament

To make this cupcake ornament, you will need:

  • A Cupcake Liner
  • Tacky Glue
  • Christmas Ball Ornament
  • Snow Tex
  • Seed Beads
  • Red Berry from a floral spray

Start by gluing a Christmas ball into a cupcake liner.

Make sure that the hanger is at the top so you can hang the ornament.

Using a popsicle stick, add Snow Tex to the top of the ornament to resemble frosting. Cover most of the hanger at the top, exposing only the hook.

While the Snow Tex is still wet, sprinkle on seed beads and top your cupcake off with a cherry (which is actually a berry from a floral spray).

Allow the Snow Tex to dry completely, and you have a sweet treat for your tree!
