“Water Your Mind—READ” is this summer’s theme for adults at the Peachtree City Public Library. Read a new genre, join a book discussion, attend a program on container gardening and more. The 2010 Summer Reading Program is open to adults ages 18 and older, with programs, prizes, and book discussions. The adult program will run concurrently with the children’s program, titled “Make a Splash—READ!” Get your whole family involved!
Every adult who registers will receive a free bookmark and one entry into our end of summer SRP drawings. After reading five books and completing a short book review for each, participants will receive a themed library card protective sleeve (while supplies last). For each adult SRP program attended, such as the library’s monthly Book Club meeting, another entry will go into the hat for our end summer drawings. Prizes include a $25 gift certificate to Omega Books, a $15 gift card to Jersey Mike’s Subs, and a Peachtree City Library canvas tote.
Mark your calendar for the first two events in June: Peachtree City Library’s Book Club will meet on Wednesday, June 9, at 10 a.m. The book selection is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Reserve your copy today at the library, or purchase it in paperback from Omega Books or Books-A-Million in Peachtree City.
Master Gardener and Fayette Woman’s own Bonnie Helander will present a program on Container Gardening on Friday, June 18, at 10 a.m. in the Floy Farr Room at Peachtree City Public Library. Bonnie will pot up a patriotic container using red, white and blue flowers. One lucky winner will get to take the pot home!
Registration begins on Tuesday, June 1. For more information, check out our Web site at http://www.peachtree-city.org/library
