Two’s a Crowd

So, I was watching the Today Show this morning and they were discussing a trend in marriage that seems to be growing more popular–husbands and wives sleeping in separate beds.
Now, of course, this is nothing new. My grandparents slept in separate beds for as long as I can remember. My hubby and I even slept in separate beds for a couple of months because of his snoring:

Note: This is NOT my husband and I...But I have been there!!!
And I know everyone remembers America’s favorite couple:
In fact, a new study shows and 1 in 4 couples sleep in separate beds and the National Association of Homebuilders estimates that by the year 2015, 60% of custom built homes will include dual master suites. The reality is that many couples change out of their clothes, kiss each other goodnight, and head off to their separate sleeping quarters.
So what do you think? Are we on to something wonderful here, that people are making their own sleep a priority. The idea that absence really does make the heart grow fonder…Or is this just asking for trouble? Weigh in and let me know what you think!!!
