Summer Porches

I HEART old houses!  Their charm, their beauty, their hardwood floors.  But what I really go ga-ga over are the porches, with their ceiling fans, and painted sky blue ceilings, and white rocking chairs.  When I was smaller, I would love sit for hours on my grandparents’ front porch in Darlington, SC…It was the perfect balance of breeze, sunlight, and shade.  So many wonderful memories were made on that old front porch.  And I think the beautiful thing is that now, I share that same front porch with my children to create their own memories.  And even though both of my grandparents are now gone, that front porch helps to hold them so dearly in my heart…forever…
