Olivia Bond has a gift for sales. This year, her first year in Girl Scouts as a daisy, she sold more than 1,300 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, going door-to-door with her mom on her bike. Her efforts earned her a free Girl Scout trip to Disney World, and she says she learned that people can do anything they want with hard work. She’s also showing early promise in music. Her mom reports that Olivia began strumming her musician father’s guitar and singing at 17 months. She’s now learning to play piano and guitar and has been told she’s a natural at it. She just finished first grade at Cleveland Elementary School, and her mom says her teachers describe her as a “rock star student.”
Olivia loves riding her bike, swimming, and playing with her little brother as well as reading, writing, drawing, and spending time with family and friends. She says when she grows up she wants to go to college “close to home.” Also high on her priority list is a visit to the Eiffel Tower. While she’s a little young to choose a career path, some she currently has in mind include professional singer, musician, dolphin trainer, and teacher.
