Man Shops Globe
If you’re a fan of Anthropologie (and if you’re not you should be; check it out here or go to Lenox Mall and see for yourself the beautiful dresses and unique home items), you will probably be a fan of Sundance’s new show, Man Shops Globe.
Anthropologie is known for its unique array of high quality clothing and home goods. Their exquisitely feminine collection ranges from minimalist, solid-color ceramic dishes to a Victorian-inspired “parlor rug” to floral painted stone measuring spoons and beautiful hand stitched wallpaper quoting a passage of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Viewers of the new Man Shops Globe will get to see how Anthropologie acquires such a spectacular collection of objects to tempt us with.
The show follows Keith Johnson, buyer-at-large for Anthropologie as he travels the world in search of artistic products to sell in the store as well as inspiration for the company’s design team. Each week Johnson will visit a different country. Spanning France, Italy, Turkey and South Africa Johnson visits flea markets, boutiques and artists’ studios viewing furniture, decorative objects and textiles crafted by artisans throughout the world.
The show airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on Sundance. Tonight will be the second week of its debut season.
