Every One of Us Has a Story

Life, Love, and Literature, Take 1

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Jill Prouty.  I’m the mother of two boys, ages 6 and 4, wife to Scott and Library Administrator for the City of Peachtree City.

My boys.

My boys.

Of course, I love books.  I’ll be discussing what’s on my night stand in the coming weeks.  (Right now it’s Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris.  Fun stuff.)  I also love to scrapbook. I recently set up a 6 ft table in our master bedroom! Genealogy is also a hobby of mine, as is writing.

Something you may find interesting about my family is that my husband was the one to quit work when our first son was born.  That’s right, he was a stay-at-home Dad for almost 6 years!  He just started back to work at NCR in August, and I have to tell you, it’s been a little rough getting used to it.  I liked having dinner ready when I got home!  More on that later…

I’m also step-mother to Tara, a 20 year-old student at West Georgia.  Tara is a good girl, although sometimes she forgets to call home when she’s supposed to (hint, hint!).

I lost both of my parents over the past six years, so my blog will undoubtedly touch on issues of loss.  I miss them both dearly, and I believe they are still an ever-present influence in my life.

Something you may not know about me: I’m a native of Maine and part of the third generation of wild Maine blueberry growers in my family. (FYI…in case you didn’t know, the “real” Maine begins east of Ellsworth.)

Me and my gal pals on the blueberry barrens in Maine. (That's me in the center.)

I hope this introduction gives you an idea of what I’m all about…and I hope you’ll join me on this journey!
