Layers…

There is something about fall that reminds me of layers:  the cardigans and sweaters, the scarves, the hats, the light mittens.  I love the idea of removing something and revealing something else.

I adore the look of layered rugs.  Up until a couple of years ago, I wasn’t very fond of this trend.  But recently I have grown to absolutely love it.  This look has the ability to take your room from just a space to a well thought-out and elegant plan of design.

In order to get in on this look, make sure that your top rug is somewhat smaller than the bottom rug.  Also, there should be some color contrast, although something drastic is definitely not required.  Lastly, there should be a sense of symmetry from both rugs.
