A New Kitchen Faucet

Replacing a kitchen faucet is one of the easier do-it-yourself remodeling projects.
A few things to keep in mind when shopping for a new kitchen faucet are:
- Brass faucets are desirable because of their resilience to extreme temperatures. They rarely need to be replaced.
- Built-in filters that remove chlorine, lead and other contaminants are now a common feature of many kitchen faucets.
- Physical Vapor Deposition, referred to simply as PVD, coats the metal faucet and handles so that they do not tarnish or corrode.
- Pullout hoses instead of side hoses are both convenient and allow for more variation in water strength.
