House Of Thomas will be performing at the American Cancer Society’s 2012 Relay For Life of Fayette County.  The annual fundraiser will be held Friday, May 18th at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.  “We are thrilled to have House Of Thomas performing and are excited to have this high quality group headline our entertainment schedule for Relay,” said this year’s event Chairperson, Mahli Lowder.

House Of Thomas won the Grand Prize in the Battle of the Bands event sponsored by The Southern Federal Credit Union, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  Their prize package for winning included a recording session with Reel to Reel Studios (famous for the legendary rock band Collective Soul), a performance at Relay For Life 2012, and a live interview on 92.5FM “The Bear”.   “I was very excited that the judges chose them as the winners of our Battle of The Bands competition back in October” said Lowder.   “I knew they’d be a great addition to the Relay line-up.”

House Of Thomas will be headlining a great entertainment line-up at the annual Relay For Life event.  Former Event Chairperson, Zach Stutts is making his debut as Entertainment Chairman.  “Zach has worked really hard to put together a program that will appeal to the varied audience that participates in Relay. “said Chairperson Lowder.  Kaitlyn MacKenzie Fultz, a talented local vocalist, will be performing at Opening Ceremonies and again in the early morning at 12:30 a.m.  Zumba and Belly Dancing classes, designed to raise participants’ heartbeats, will brighten up the dark early morning skies at 2:30 A.M.  At 4:00 AM the Event Planning Committee will lead weary Relay participants in a energizing Dance Party.  A concluding ceremony will be held at sunrise.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.  The general public is welcome and encouraged to visit Relay and experience this wonderful event.  Opening Ceremonies will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18th. Torches and luminary bags in memory of those lost to cancer or in honor of those who are fighting the disease will be lit at 8:00 PM.  Participating teams will have one member walking or running on the Relay track until Closing Ceremonies at 6:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 19th.  The general public is welcome to walk the track for one lap, or many laps.

Relay teams will have games, food, face painting, magic shows, drawings, merchandise, cookbooks and various other activities available to participants and the general public.  There is something for everyone at Relay.  The money raised will help the American Cancer Society move toward finding a cure for cancer.  If you are interested in making a donation or finding out more about the event, please see the event website at www.Relayforlife.org/fayettecounty or call the local American Cancer Society office at 770-631-0625.
