Free Journaling Workshop at Fayette Library Feb. 16th
The Fayette County Public Library invites the public to register for a free journaling workshop for adults and high school students on Saturday, February 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Titled “Explore Your Possibilities and Let the Rumpus Begin,” this three-hour hands-on educational session is presented by Pamela Byrd, a certified life coach and owner of Wilderness Journeys. The program is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
The “Explore Your Possibilities” workshop is presented in conjunction with the Fayette County Public Library’s 15th annual Blended Heritage Celebration, scheduled to take place on Friday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s public meeting room. The theme for this year’s Blended Heritage Celebration is “Let the Wild Rumpus Start!” Instructor Pamela Byrd has custom-designed a workshop with this theme in mind, demonstrating the power of a personal journal to guide the writer on a journey into his or her own inner wilderness areas and back.
The workshop offers participants insight, instruction, and interactive exercises to help them explore fresh ideas for using self-reflection to capture their world in writing. The afternoon’s adventure will include the opportunity to discover different journaling forms and styles, and to tap into methods of transforming difficult life transitions into personal growth. Pamela Byrd promises to provide a collaborative learning environment that fosters a spirit of playfulness and self-discovery. This workshop does not require any previous journaling experience or skill.
Pamela Byrd specializes in assisting people through life’s twists and turns, helping individuals to uncover their own value and realize their own potential through coaching sessions and empowerment seminars. With 15 years of experience in corporate training and organizational development, she has been a practicing life coach since 2006. She started journaling when she was 11 years old, and has never stopped.
The “Explore Your Possibilities” creative journaling workshop is free, but space is limited. Please pre-register with Pamela Byrd by calling 678-364-1052. This program is made possible through the support of the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library.
