Local master gardeners always appreciate a good rain but are really hoping that on Saturday, May 5th, there will be blue skies and sunny weather for their annual plant sale and garden tour. The plant sale begins at 8:00 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m. or until the plants are all sold! This much-anticipated event will take place near the gazebo in the parking lot of the Fayette County Administration Complex, at the corner of Hwy 54 and Hwy 85 in Fayetteville.

You’ll find hundreds of plants at bargain prices. Plants include shrubs, perennials, vegetables, herbs and flowering annuals.   Don’t miss the educational displays on such topics as: Square Foot Gardening, Native Plants for the Garden, Creative Container Gardening and Building your Own Rain Barrel.  Bring your questions because master gardeners will be available throughout the day at the “Ask a Master Gardener” booth. Here you can also purchase tickets to the garden tour being held the same day.

If you’d like to take a peek at the stunning southern gardens in the exclusive North Cove enclave in Peachtree City, you will not want to miss this year’s garden tour. Two North Cove gardens will be highlighted, and who knows…you might find some other North Cove neighbors willing to share their gardens as well!

Passes purchased in advance for the tour cost $15 and $18 on the day of the event. You can buy tickets at Wild Birds Unlimited in Peachtree City, Andy’s II Nursery on Hwy 85 south in Fayetteville, Southern Traditions and ArtWorks on the Square in Fayetteville and South Crest Bank in Tyrone.
