A natural presenter, Clara Comiskey served on the Fayetteville Comprehensive Planning Committee and was asked to present for her adult team. She’s also led healthy relationship workshops at AVPRIDE, participated in political forums, and volunteered at the Bedford School. She currently interns for the solicitor general.
A member of four national honor societies, Clara is a recipient of the Melissa Segars Memorial Scholarship, received the International Skills Diploma Seal, was named an AP Scholar of Distinction, and was voted “Most Likely to Become President” by her class. Clara has been on McIntosh High’s cross-country team for four years and the track team for two. She also plays recreational soccer, teaches kindergarten Sunday school, and is active in AVPRIDE’s FYLP program. She’s been involved in Girl Scouts for 12 years and is working on her gold award.
This fall, Clara will attend Coastal Carolina University, where she plans to major in intelligence and national security. She’d like to work for the NSA and her dream job is to become a cabinet member for the Department of Homeland Security. She’d also like to run a marathon, find the greatest cheeseburger in the world, and see the Egyptian pyramids.
Her advice to other young women: Become as active as you can in the community and local politics. It’s amazing the impact you can make even as a teenager!
