Hello and welcome to our fitness blog, a new feature to this beautiful new website. I say “our” because this incredible new website will help us to dialog and share ideas together. I will continue to share ideas and thoughts with you in the printed edition of “Fayette Woman”. In our blog we’ll be able to explore topics in more depth, have more interactive discussions, and be able to build a true fitness community.
Have you read my columns in the printed “Fayette Woman” magazine? If not, let me introduce myself. I am Mary Catherine Domaleski, a wife, mother of three, personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and native Fayette County resident. I teach fitness classes professionally at several local gyms as well as donate time to teach free classes at a number of Church-sponsored locations around the area.
Perhaps like some of you, I have struggled with my weight in the past. Gaining weight, giving birth to three wonderful children, and then losing that weight was no easy task. Even though I’m a fitness professional, I still find it a challenge to keep in top shape.
I do not believe in quick weight loss gimmicks, fad diets, or secret exercise routines. Because I’ve used the techniques myself, I believe in the time-honored and, perhaps, old-fashioned approach of watching what you eat and exercise. It sounds simple enough, but I know losing weight and keeping it off is sometimes easier said than done.
In short, I’m a wife and mother just like many of you. We spend so much of our time taking care of other people that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. Let’s work together to take better care of ourselves by building a true fitness community of healthy living right here on this website. If you have ideas, suggestions, questions, or comments please feel free to share.
