Here Comes the Bride…

As many of you have probably already heard, Chelsea Clinton is getting married. And anytime the child of a president or former president gets married, as you know, it is a very big deal. Now, while I am not extremely interested in the marriage details itself, I must say that I am very interested in where she will choose to get married. As of right now, rumors are circling that the ceremony will be held at the very beautiful Astor Courts, located about 90 miles from NYC. There are rumored to be about 400 guests that will be in attendance, including world royalty, politicians, and celebrities.

Astor Courts is an absolutely amazing 15,000 squar foot estate, located on 50 acres on the Hudson River in Rhinebeck, NY. It was constructed for John Jacob Astor IV and his wife, Ava, between 1902 and 1904. He later divorced Ava in 1909 and married a much younger woman, Madeline Talmadge Force (interesting—I guess some things never change…). It was on the return from their honeymoon that Mr. Astor died with the sinking of the Titanic in April 1912. Although Madeline and her unborn son survived, they did not inherit the property. It was actually left to his first son, William Vincent Astor. Sorry…I’m a bit of a history buff. My dad taught history and political science for 35 years…go figure! And did I mention that it is now on the market for a cool 12 mil?
I’ve have included some beautiful pictures of this amazing property…Enjoy!!!
