This is my basic basil pesto recipe. It is great to use a blender or food processor for this task. Make as much as you can, use what you need, and save the rest. Fill ice cube trays with pesto, freeze, and pop them into freezer bags for future use.
- 2 cups packed fresh Basil Leaves
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ cup toasted pine nuts
- 1 lemon, juiced
- ¼ cup olive oil
- At a low speed, pulse the basil, garlic, pine nuts, and lemon juice until well broken down.
- Turn food processor on and slowly add olive oil until a nice paste develops.
